Gartner predicts that costs in the consumer wearables market will grow at an accelerated pace in the coming years.
In 2018, consumers spent approximately $32,4 billion globally on various wearable gadgets. We are talking about devices such as smart watches, fitness trackers, smart glasses, headsets, etc.
This year, global spending is expected to reach $40,6 billion. If this forecast is correct, the growth compared to last year will be an impressive 25%.
In 2020, Gartner analysts believe, the industry will show a 27 percent growth. As a result, the size of the consumer market for wearable devices will reach $51,5 billion. In 2021, the costs will be about $63 billion.
It is noted that in the total mass of expenses in 2019, almost half - $ 17,0 billion - will fall on smart watches of various types. Such gadgets in terms of consumer spending will continue to dominate in 2020-2021.
If we consider the industry in pieces, then in 2020, analysts believe, 86 million smart watches and 70 million devices designed to be worn in the ears will be sold.
