The analytical company GfK has published a forecast for the global market of household appliances and electronics: this year, costs are expected to increase in this segment.
It is reported, in particular, that expenses will increase by 2,5% compared to last year. The global market size will exceed the landmark β¬1 trillion mark, reaching β¬1,05 trillion.
The highest costs are expected in the field of telecom products. In 2019, such products accounted for 43% of the total market volume of household appliances and electronics. According to GfK forecasts, in 2020 spending in this area will amount to β¬454 billion, up 3% compared to 2019.
In second place will be large household appliances, whose global sales this year are projected to amount to β¬187 billion. Growth is at 2%.
The consumer electronics segment will earn β¬146 billion (approximately 14% of consumer spending).
The fastest growing sector globally will be small appliances, up 8% year-on-year. Costs here will reach β¬97 billion.
More than 15% of total consumer spending on appliances and electronics will come from the IT and office equipment sector.
βThe key factors in product selection this year remain innovation, performance and premiumity, which provide a high-quality user experience. In addition, consumers today want to invest in convenience and a healthy lifestyle. This will support the high dynamics of demand for small household appliances in both developed and emerging markets,β notes GfK.
