GeForce GTX 1650 reviews delayed due to lack of drivers

Yesterday, NVIDIA officially introduced the youngest graphics card. GeForce GTX 1650. Many expected that along with the presentation on specialized sites, including ours, reviews of the novelty would be published. However, this did not happen, since NVIDIA did not provide the reviewers with drivers for this accelerator in advance.

Usually, NVIDIA video cards receive specialized resources before the official release, along with a new version of drivers, which has already added full support for the new accelerator. This allows you to conduct full testing without worrying that drivers will affect the results. After all, if you test a new video card with an old version of the drivers, then the results will not be at all the same as ordinary users can expect.

But in the case of the new GeForce GTX 1650, reviewers, and not all, received only the video card itself, without the corresponding driver version. Therefore, the opportunity to start full-fledged testing of the new accelerator appeared only yesterday, when NVIDIA published a driver package GeForce Game Ready 430.39 WHQL with support for the new video card on your site.

Some reviewers and users have suggested that NVIDIA did not provide drivers in advance because they are not sure that the video card will meet the expectations of potential buyers. That is, reviews could show that the video card has by no means an impressive level of performance, which would have a negative impact on orders and sales at the start. And so the company can manage to collect quite a lot of orders for its new product and secure good initial sales.

On the other hand, NVIDIA could have provided the drivers ahead of time and simply banned the publication of reviews at a later date, after the release of the video cards. Or start accepting pre-orders even before the release. Such options would not cause such bewilderment as the decision not to provide the driver to browsers. Although we should not forget the principle of Hanlon's razor: "Never attribute to malice that which can be fully explained by stupidity." That is, NVIDIA could simply forget to provide the profile resources with drivers. And finally, perhaps the required driver was not ready and NVIDIA was finalizing it to the last.
