The new season will receive a themed game, which is also made in retro style.
The first short trailer for Stranger Things 3: The Game indicates that we are talking about an isometric adventure with pixel art and support for cooperative play. Without a doubt, fans will take apart this video for parts to draw conclusions about what is expected in the new season. The game from BonusXP will be released on July 4, along with the continuation of the series, and is designed to complement the TV environment with a gaming one.
In the trailer, fans can see some of the more than 12 playable characters, some of which are new characters from the third season. All of them have unique abilities that allow them to overcome various obstacles. You can go through in single player mode, there is no online co-op - players are invited to be content with the local option.
Stranger Things 3: The Game was unveiled at the GDC 2019 game developers conference. It looks familiar and simple - maybe this will be its main plus. The adventure will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, macOS and Windows, while a "simplified version" (although seemingly much simpler) will also be released on mobile platforms.
By the way, this is not the first game adaptation of the series - in 2017, the adventure retro action movie Stranger Things: The Game was released for iOS and Android, which also used pixel graphics. There were also plans for Telltale Games to release an interactive series for Netflix based on Stranger Things, but after the closure of the first one, they had to be revised.
