On March 14, 2019, at 22:14 Moscow time, the Soyuz-FG launch vehicle with the Soyuz MS-1 transport manned spacecraft successfully launched from pad No. 12 (βGagarin Startβ) of the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
Another long-term expedition set off to the International Space Station (ISS): the ISS-59/60 team included Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexei Ovchinin, NASA astronauts Nick Haig and Christina Cook.
At 22:23 Moscow time, the Soyuz MS-12 spacecraft routinely separated from the third stage of the launch vehicle in a given near-Earth orbit and continued its autonomous flight under the control of specialists from the Russian Mission Control Center.
The rendezvous of the apparatus with the ISS was carried out according to a four-orbit scheme. Today, March 15, the manned spacecraft successfully docked to the docking port of the Rassvet small research module of the Russian segment of the International Space Station.
The device delivered 126,9 kg of various cargoes into orbit. These are, in particular, resource equipment, habitat control equipment, equipment for conducting experiments, life support equipment and personal belongings of astronauts.
The tasks of the ISS-59/60 expedition include: implementation of the scientific research program, work with Russian and American cargo and manned spacecraft, maintenance of the station, extravehicular activity, on-board photography and video filming, etc.
