Today, Apple has officially announced the date of its big event, where it will introduce new devices. It will take place on September 15 at 20:00 Moscow time. It is expected that at the event the company can show the iPhone 12 series smartphones, the new iPad model, Apple Watch Series 6 smart watches and AirTag trackers. However, there is no explicit confirmation of this list of devices yet, and it is possible that some of the new products (for example, smartphones) will be presented later.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event will be held virtually. It is reported that it will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater. It is not yet known whether this will be a live broadcast or the presentation will be pre-recorded.
Perhaps the central theme of the event will be the iPhone 12 family, which is supposed to consist of four devices with display diagonals from 5,4 to 6,7 inches. It is expected that all new models will receive OELD matrices. Pro versions of the iPhone 12 are credited with 120Hz displays with support for 10-bit color. In addition, the iPhone 12 Pro Max should get a LiDAR sensor like the 2020 iPad Pro. All new iPhones will be based on the Apple A14 processor, which will be the first mass-produced 5nm chip. In addition, according to rumors, the entire iPhone 12 family will have 5G support.
As for the iPad, it remains to be seen if we'll see a budget model or whether Apple will introduce the iPad Air 4, which is credited with a narrow bezel design and a fingerprint scanner in the power button. There are also speculations that Apple will ditch the proprietary Lightning port in favor of USB Type-C in the new tablet.
The Apple Watch Series 6, which we will also likely see during the presentation, will receive a new plastic case option that will be a budget version of the device and will compete with fitness trackers. It is assumed that the new watch will receive a blood oxygen level sensor and advanced sleep monitoring functions.
There are suggestions that during the event on September 15, Apple will finally show the AirTag trackers, which have been rumored for a couple of years.
It is worth adding that the devices demonstrated at the event will most likely enter the market no earlier than October.
