Official: Honor 9X smartphone will receive Kirin 810 chip

A few days ago it became known that the Honor 9X smartphone will be officially submitted July 23. Ahead of the launch of the device, the company revealed which chipset will be used in the smartphone.

An image has appeared on Weibo in which the manufacturer confirms that the hardware basis of the future Honor 9X will be the new HiSilicon Kirin 810 chip, which is produced in accordance with the 7-nanometer technological process.

The chip in question is equipped with a pair of high-performance Cortex-A76 cores with an operating frequency of 2,27 GHz, as well as six energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores with an operating frequency of 1,88 GHz. The configuration is complemented by the Mali-G52 graphics accelerator. In addition, the chip has a new Huawei DaVinci NPU computing unit that consumes less power. Comparative tests have shown that the Kirin 810 is superior to its direct competitor Qualcomm Snapdragon 730. The company says that the capabilities of the new processor in terms of image processing are comparable to those of flagship chips.

Previously, there were reports that Honor 9X will receive a camera based on 24 and 8 megapixel sensors, which will be complemented by a 2 megapixel depth sensor. As for the front camera, it should be based on a sensor with a resolution of 20 megapixels. It is expected that the device will receive a fingerprint scanner, a slot for connecting a memory card, as well as a standard 3,5 mm headset jack. The software basis of the Honor 9X should be the Android 9.0 (Pie) mobile OS with the proprietary EMUI 9 interface.
