NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super and GTX 1650 Super Final Specs

NVIDIA has revealed to the press the final specifications for the GeForce GTX 1660 Super and GTX 1650 Super graphics cards. And the fact that this information is protected by a non-disclosure agreement did not stop the VideoCardz resource from publishing it.

The characteristics of the GeForce GTX 1660 Super have long been known from many leaks. Therefore, let's start with the younger GeForce GTX 1650 Super, which really turned out to be something new. Previous rumors claimed that the junior representative of the Super-series will receive a GPU with 1024-1152 CUDA cores. However, NVIDIA decided to endow the new product with a more powerful Turing TU116 chip, which has 1280 CUDA cores. The GeForce GTX 1060 had the same number of cores.

In addition to the number of cores, the frequency of the GPU will also increase. The base will be 1530 MHz, and Boost - 1725 MHz. The GeForce GTX 1650 Super will also have 4 GB of GDDR6 video memory with an effective frequency of 12 GHz, which will be connected to a 128-bit bus. The usual GeForce GTX 1650, recall, had the same amount of memory, but of the GDDR5 type with a frequency of 8 GHz. We also note that the TDP level of the novelty will be 100 W, which is 25 W higher than the level of the regular GeForce GTX 1650.

And another interesting difference between the GeForce GTX 1650 Super will be that the novelty will have a hardware NVENC video encoder of the Turing generation, while the GPU of the regular GTX 1650 had the encoder of the previous generation Volta.

As for the GeForce GTX 1660 Super, as previously reported, it will be built on the same 12nm Turing TU116 GPU as the regular version. This means 1408 CUDA cores, 88 texture units and 48 raster units. GPU clock speeds will be 1530/1785 MHz. The main difference between the novelty will be the presence of 6 GB of GDDR6 memory instead of the slower GDDR5 (14 vs. 8 GHz). As a result, the memory bandwidth will increase to 336 GB / s.

The GeForce GTX 1660 Super graphics card is due out on October 29 and will cost $229. In turn, the GeForce GTX 1650 Super will appear only next month, November 22. The price of the junior video card of the Super series is not specified.
