OnePlus 5 and 5T get new firmware

OnePlus 5 and 5T smartphones, the flagship devices of 2017, have started receiving the OxygenOS update. The current firmware build numbered 9.0.11 has received several minor improvements and, most importantly, a security patch dated February 2020.

Back in 2018, OnePlus announced that every smartphone it produces will receive at least two Android version updates and 3 years of security updates. This should have meant the end of new firmware releases for the OnePlus 5T in November 2019.

However, the company has decided to include 2017 devices in the list of smartphones that will receive Android 10. The OnePlus 5 series will receive the Android 10 update by the second quarter of this year. But before that, the company decided to release an interim update v9.0.11. The update size is approximately 1,8 GB. The firmware will be distributed in random order.
