OnePlus 7 Pro coming in 5G variant for EE in the UK and Elisa in Finland

As expected, OnePlus has introduced not one smartphone, but a whole family in the face of a "cheap flagship" OnePlus 7, powerful OnePlus 7 Pro and the most advanced model of OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. Company demonstrated back at MWC 2019, a prototype of a smartphone with 5G support, so such an announcement was expected.

Unfortunately, this version of the device will be available (at least for now) exclusively in the UK market for EE and in Finland for Elisa - both companies plan to begin commercial operation of the first 5G networks soon. The manufacturer hasn't announced any other partnerships and hasn't disclosed pricing or release dates for those markets.

The OnePlus 7 5G has features broadly similar to the OnePlus 7 Pro, however, in addition to the Snapdragon 855 SoC, it includes an additional Snapdragon X50 5G modem chip and Qualcomm RF Front-End solutions for 5G. However, by analogy with the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, there may be other changes: for example, a more capacious battery and, accordingly, increased weight.

As part of an exclusive partnership between EE and OnePlus, the first 6 buyers of the OnePlus 7T smartphone for EE networks will be able to trade in their old device for a OnePlus 5 Pro 5G with an eligible 7G plan at no additional cost. EE will also offer its users two other OnePlus 4 family smartphones to access its XNUMXG networks (the best coverage in the country).
