OxygenOS is considered by many users to be one of the best skins for Android, but it still lacks some modern features such as Always On Display and a full system-wide dark theme. OnePlus has announced that it implements a dark mode in proprietary firmware as in bare Android 10.
OnePlus smartphones have had support for a dark theme for some time now, but the ability to activate it is hidden deep in the settings menu. In addition, there is no way to activate the function at a given time, which is quite inconvenient, since you need to go to Settings every time to enable or disable it.
The company said that it will significantly rework the capabilities of the dark mode, adding flexible settings and activation using the switch in the quick settings panel. Thanks to this, users will be able to activate the dark theme with one click.
OnePlus says the feature will be tested by developers this month and will appear in the next OxygenOS open beta, after which it will be available in the stable version of the firmware.
