OpenBVE is a free railway transport simulator written in a programming language C#.
OpenBVE was created as an alternative to the railway simulator BVE Trainsim, in connection with which most of the routes from BVE Trainsim (versions 2 and 4) suitable for OpenBVE. The program is distinguished by close to real physics of movement and graphics, a view of the train from the side, animated surroundings and sound effects.
On September 18, a significant version release took place. 1.7.0.0, shortly after which a corrective release was issued 1.7.0.1.
Major changes
- Converted object parsers into a single set of shared plugins.
- Code responsible for graphics and audio has been moved to shared libraries.
- A new (experimental) tool has been added to fully edit the properties of a train with a single program, as a tribute to the S520-TrainEditor2.
- Added a toggle switch to toggle the RailDriver speed display.
- Added panel/animated elements for PilotLamp, StationPassAlarm and StationAdjustAlarm.
- Added appropriate sound for EB dampening.
- Possibility to turn off plate oscillations for each wagon bogie separately.
- Ability to define an object by a connector.
- Numerous other fixes both in the engine and addon files.
Binary packages prepared by for Linux, MS Windows ΠΈ Mac OS X "Mojave" (not compatible with macOS "Catalina" and newer).
