The AV Linux 23.2 distribution kit has been released, containing a selection of applications for creating/processing multimedia content. The distribution is based on the MX Linux package base and the KXStudio repository with a collection of applications for audio processing and additional proprietary packages (Polyphone, Shuriken, Simple Screen Recorder, etc.). The distribution can operate in Live mode and is available for the x86_64 architecture (5.4 GB).

The Linux kernel in AV Linux comes with a set of Liquorix patches to improve system responsiveness during audio processing work. Enlightenment is supplied as a custom environment. The package includes sound editors Ardour, ArdourVST, Harrison, Mixbus, the 3D design system Blender, video editors Cinelerra, Openshot, LiVES and tools for converting multimedia file formats. During installation you have the choice of using sysvinit or systemd. The distribution kit is equipped with a detailed illustrated manual (PDF, 72 pages)

In the new release:

  • Fixed issues that surfaced after upgrading the package base to MX-23 and Debian 12 in the last release, replacing Xfce with Enlightenment 0.25.4, and enabling the PipeWire media server by default.
