F3D 1.0, compact 3D model viewer published

Company Kitware, specializing in medical data visualization and computer vision, and also known for developing the CMake build system, presented fast and compact 3D viewer F3D 1.0, developed according to the principle KISS (make it easier, without complications). The program is written in C++, uses the visualization library VTK, also developed by KitWare, and spreads under the BSD license. Build for Windows, Linux and macOS platforms is possible.

Display control and navigation through the resources offered in the file is done through command line options or hotkeys. Supports viewing 3D models in VTK, STL (Standard Triangle Language), PLY (Polygon File format), GML (CityGML), DCM (DICOM), EX2 (Exodus 2), PTS (Point Cloud), OBJ (Wavefront), GLTF/GLB (GL), 3DS (Autodesk 3DS Max) and VRL (VRML). For gltf/glb, 3ds, wrl, and obj formats that include scene information (lights, cameras, textures, characters), the scene specified in the file is displayed, and for formats that contain only geometry information, a default scene is generated. Can be used for rendering
OpenGL or ray tracing engines available in VTK.
