Fedora Asahi Remix 41, a distribution designed for installation on Mac computers equipped with Apple-designed ARM chips, has been released. Fedora Asahi Remix 41 is based on the Fedora package base. Linux 41 and comes with the Calamares installer. The Asahi distribution was originally Linux developed on the basis of Arch Linux, but in 2023 it was migrated to the Fedora package base, which allowed it to focus its efforts on reverse engineering and hardware support, and to hand over the assembly of a ready-to-install distribution to the Fedora Asahi SIG working group.
Fedora Asahi Remix is designed to run on Apple MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, Mac Studio, and iMac systems with Apple M1 and M2 ARM chips. Fully supported: Apple computer audio, camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, input devices, USB Type C (USB 3.0), and MagSafe wireless charging. Not yet supported: USB-C display, Thunderbolt/USB4, microphone, and Touch ID.
