CoreBoot port for MSI PRO Z690-A motherboard published

The May update of the Dasharo project, which develops an open set of firmware, BIOS and UEFI based on CoreBoot, provides an open firmware implementation for the MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4 motherboard supporting the LGA 1700 socket and the current 12-generation (Alder Lake) Intel Core processors, Pentium Gold and Celeron. In addition to MSI PRO Z690-A, the project also provides open firmware for Dell OptiPlex 7010/9010, Asus KGPE-D16, Talos II, Clevo NV41, Tuxedo IBS15, NovaCustom NS5X and Protectli VP4620 boards.

The CoreBoot port proposed for installation on the MSI PRO Z690-A board supports PCIe, USB, NVMe, Ethernet, HDMI, Display Port, audio, integrated WiFi and Bluetooth, and TPM. Provided compatibility with UEFI and SMBIOS. Provided the ability to boot in UEFI Secure Boot mode, boot over the network, and use a shell to control the UEFI firmware. In the boot interface, you can assign your own keys to activate the boot menu, change the boot order, configure options, etc. Known issues include loss of USB storage devices after reboot, inoperability of some PCIe ports and fTPM. Work tested on workstation with Intel Core i5-12600K 3.7 processor, Intel 670p 512 GB M26472-201 NVME SSD and Kingston KF436C17BBK4/32 RAM.
