It seems that Microsoft can no longer contain the flow of leaks regarding the new Edge browser. The Verge has published new screenshots, and a 15-minute video has also appeared that demonstrates the browser in all its glory. But first things first.
At first glance, the browser looks relatively finished and seems to be better in many areas compared to the existing Edge browser. Of course, some elements are missing, and not all the features of the current version of the browser will be included in the release of the new one. However, it is expected that the novelty will become available to insiders in a few weeks, after which, in case of successful testing, it will be released to everyone.
There is also new information about extensions. It is reported that a switch will be built into the browser that will allow the use of the Google Chrome extensions online store. Similar is in Opera.
The current build already offers to import files, passwords and browsing history from Chrome or Edge on the first run. The browser will also prompt you to choose a style for the new tab. At the same time, the new product does not yet have a dark theme, synchronization is carried out only for the favorites, and tabs cannot be fixed. It is assumed that the developers will fix all these shortcomings by the time of release.
Recall that earlier, according to media reports, two popular features of Microsoft Edge were transferred to the Google Chrome browser. We are talking about the focus mode (Focus Mode), as well as thumbnails for tabs (Tab Hover). The first possibility allows you to pin a web page to the taskbar. And the second, as the name implies, shows a page thumbnail when you hover over a tab.
