Linux Mint Edge 21.2 build with new Linux kernel has been published

The developers of the Linux Mint distribution have announced the publication of a new iso image β€œEdge”, which is based on the July release of Linux Mint 21.2 with the Cinnamon desktop and is distinguished by the delivery of the Linux kernel 6.2 instead of 5.15. In addition, support for the UEFI SecureBoot mode has been returned in the proposed iso image.

The build is aimed at users of new equipment that have problems installing and loading Linux Mint 21.2 when using the Linux 5.15 kernel, formed in the fall of 2021 and used as the base kernel in Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. The 6.2 kernel package was ported to Linux Mint 21.2 from the Ubuntu 22.04.3 distribution, to which it was backported from the Ubuntu 23.04 release.
