Sources of MIPS32 microAptiv cores published under the MIPS Open program

Wave Computing (Wave Computing, formerly MIPS Technologies, previously acquired by Imagination Technologies and after its dismemberment again received an independent status) announced the publication of the source code for MIPS32 microAptiv processor cores under the MIPS Open program.

Published code for two classes of kernels:

  • microAptiv MCU core is a microcontroller core for real-time embedded systems.
  • microAptiv MPU core - includes a cache controller and a memory management unit (MMU), providing the ability to run full-fledged operating systems such as Linux.

Π’ download section:

  • Document with MIPS Open architecture
  • MIPS Open IDE (Linux and Windows versions)
  • MIPS Open FPGA packages - to run MIPS Open cores on FPGAs
  • The source code of the microAptiv UP Core and microAptiv UC Core cores in the hardware description language Verilog

To download, you must accept the terms of the license agreement and register on the site.

Formerly Wave Computing announced the launch of the program MIPS Open, where participants will be able to release their own MIPS kernels without having to pay for architecture certification, buy the source code of the kernels, pay other license fees, and also get access to the source code of existing MIPS kernels developed by Wave Computing.
