France's largest telecommunications company, Orange, said it has selected Nokia and Ericsson as equipment and technology providers to deploy its 5G network in mainland France.
βFor Orange, the rollout of 5G is a huge challenge and one of the top priorities of our Engage 2025 strategic plan,β said Orange France CEO Fabienne Dulac, adding that the operator is excited to continue its partnership with Nokia and Ericsson, two key long-term partners to develop a powerful and innovative 5G network.
Earlier this week, the European Union, following the example of the UK, allowed the members of the bloc to decide for themselves what role Huawei could play in the rollout of its 5G networks.
