American Association of software and computer game manufacturers (Entertainment Software Association) leak of personal data of two thousand journalists and bloggers. According to Rock, Paper, Shotgun, the company was registering participants for E3 2019 and accidentally posted the data on the Web.
Full name, address, phone number and e-mail were published in open access. All this was available in the online spreadsheet. Among the victims: employees of IGN, Polygon, The Verge, PC Gamer, as well as a number of representatives of domestic publications.
According to Rock, Paper, Shotgun, the company was aware of the incident, but did not advertise it. The information was published by journalist Sophia Narwitz (Sophia Narwitz) from Nichegamer. Representatives of the ESA said that they fixed the error and took security measures to avoid such leaks.
E3 2019 was held from June 11 to 13 in Los Angeles (USA). By Gameindustry.biz, the event was attended by 66,1 thousand people. This is three thousand less than in 2018.
