EFF has released Certbot 1.0, a package for obtaining Let's Encrypt certificates

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), a founding member of the non-profit Let's Encrypt CA, presented release of tools Certbot 1.0prepared to make it easier to obtain TLS/SSL certificates and automate HTTPS configuration on web servers. Certbot can also act as client software for accessing various certification authorities using the ACME protocol. The project code is written in Python and spreads licensed under Apache 2.0.

Certbot allows not only to automate the receipt and renewal of certificates, but also to generate ready-made settings for organizing HTTPS operation in Apache httpd, nginx and haproxy in various Linux distribution environments and BSD systems, as well as for organizing requests from HTTP to HTTPS. The private key for the certificate is generated on the user's side. It is possible to revoke received certificates in case of system compromise.
