The founder of Void Linux changed the license for his fork XBPS

Juan Romero Pardines, after discontinuities relationships with other Void Linux developers, translated its branch package manager XBPS (X Binary Package System) on a 3-point BSD license. Previously, the project used a 2-clause BSD license, similar to the MIT license. From other plans it is noted Launching new project and intention rewrite xbps-src.

The new version of the XBPS license added a clause prohibiting the use of the XBPS name and the names of the developers in the promotion of derivative products, without obtaining special written permission. As such, Void Linux developers will not be able to port future changes from the new XBPS repository without renaming the package manager or obtaining explicit consent from Juan. However, they can continue to develop their XBPS branch, which remains under the BSD-2 license.
