The American supplier of enterprise-class network equipment Cisco has begun cutting jobs, which was announced during the last quarterly report, writes The Register. This measure, carried out as part of the restructuring, is designed to redirect the company's efforts to more promising areas. In total, Cisco intends to cut about 5% of its workforce, or about 4250 employees. The company initiated its previous major reduction just over a year ago. Representatives of senior management are not immune from the reductions being carried out at Cisco. Among those to be fired was Maria Martinez, chief operating officer since May 2021, whose position was eliminated as part of the restructuring.
