"Yandex.Lyceum" is an educational project of "Yandex" to teach programming to schoolchildren. Applications are accepted from eighth and ninth grade students. The curriculum lasts two years; Moreover, training is free.
This year, the geography of the project has more than doubled: now training will be conducted at 300 sites in 131 cities in Russia and Kazakhstan. More than 8000 children, including second-year students, will study at Yandex.Lyceum.
In the first year, students learn Python, and in the second year, the basics of industrial programming. In most cities, classes take place after 15:00 at technology parks and educational institutions. In 18 cities, Yandex.Lyceum will operate on the basis of IT-cube children's educational centers - under an agreement with the Foundation for New Forms of Educational Development.
The curriculum was developed at the School of Data Analysis, and future teachers undergo special training there. After each lesson, students have to complete assignments.
To apply, you need to fill out an application and take an online test for your ability to think logically. Those who successfully complete the tasks will be invited for an interview.
