MNT Research has begun raising funds for a series of notebooks with open hardware. Among other things, the laptop offers replaceable 18650 batteries, a mechanical keyboard, open graphics drivers, 4 GB RAM and an NXP/Freescale i.MX8MQ (1.5 GHz) processor. The laptop will ship without a webcam and microphone, it will weigh ~1.9 kilograms and folded dimensions - 29 x 20.5 x 4 cm. The laptop will come pre-installed with Debian GNU/Linux 11.
The price starts from 999 euros.
