Elbrus Community Forum Opened

Elbrus Community Forum Opened

On November 18, 2020, thanks to the efforts of MCST employees, the long-awaited forum for software developers for Elbrus microprocessors was opened.

The forum is configured to work in closed mode: unregistered users cannot read posts, and search engines cannot index forum pages. To register on the forum, the user must provide the required information: last name, first name, patronymic, contact phone number, position, organization name, department (subdivision). The last three points can be omitted if the user is a dealer, since personal information about such a user is already known to the organizers. Activation of a forum member is done manually by a group of administrators after checking and deciding on the possibility of admission.

Specialists of MCST JSC, experts, partners are registered at the forum. From the Russian Linux community, there are authors of the BaseALT distribution on the forum. Judging by the leaked nicknames, there are already several longtime users of the Linux.org.ru site on the forum.

When registering on the forum, you need to understand that inadequate requirements for registering participants in a pair using the unencrypted HTTP protocol is not a whim of the site organizers or a demonstration of incompetence, but the fulfillment of the requirements of regulators. The opening of the forum has been delayed for several years due to organizational restrictions, but by now a consensus has been found within which the Elbrus community forum can exist.

In connection with the opening of the forum, posted on Youtube video appeal MCST public relations specialist Maxim Gorshenin, which briefly talks about the new forum and subsequent changes that are expected on the official Internet resources dedicated to the domestic microprocessor architecture Elbrus.
