We are talking about the official Valve game in the spirit of the popular Dota 2 mod, Dota Auto Chess. This is a strategic combat game that challenges players to recruit fighters and eliminate rivals as they fight for control of the White Spire.
The Dota Underlords description says: “Beyond the influence of Stonehall and Revtel, rises the capital of excitement and arrogance: White Spire. This abode of smugglers is famous for its loose morals and motley crowd. And although the city is teeming with syndicates, gangs and secret orders, it has never fallen into the abyss of chaos thanks to one person - Mother Ib. She was respected... She was loved... And, unfortunately, she was killed last week. Now the entire criminal world of White Spire is worried about only one question: who will rule the city?”
The previous official offshoot of Dota 2, the collectible card game Artifact, did not receive a warm welcome from the gaming community. At the same time, the number of Dota Underlords players has already exceeded the peak figures of Artifact - apparently, the project promises to become noticeably more successful.
Last week, Underlords underwent early testing for Dota 2 Battle Pass owners, and now anyone can try the game for free. According to Valve's announced plans, the project will remain in early access for the next few months before a full launch with more characters, ranked game modes, avatar lords, a battle pass, and seasonal promotions.
The game knows how to select opponents based on experience, so beginners should not encounter too difficult opponents. Local modes against advanced AI are supported; tournaments are available (closed lobbies with the possibility of inviting spectators).
Dota Underlords is currently available (in versions for Windows, macOS and Linux), as well as mobile stores и . There is Russian localization and full cross-platform play (that is, the project can be started on a PC and finished on a smartphone, or vice versa).
