Created by the Chinese company Xiaomi, the Redmi brand will not rush to announce a flagship smartphone with a Snapdragon 855 processor, as reported by network sources.
At the beginning of this year, the CEO of the Chinese brand, Lu Weibing, hinted at the possibility of releasing a device on the Snapdragon 855 platform under the name Redmi.
After that, fans of Xiaomi products reportedly bombarded Mr. Weibing with questions about the project of said smartphone. Therefore, the head of Redmi was forced to appeal to the fans with a request not to disturb him on this topic.
Thus, observers conclude, it is not worth expecting the imminent release of the Redmi smartphone on the Snapdragon 855 platform. Most likely, the corresponding project is simply far from being implemented, and therefore the head of Redmi cannot provide specific information on it.
But this does not mean that smartphones based on Snapdragon 855 will not appear in the Redmi lineup. Such devices may be announced in the second half of this year.
Currently, the Redmi brand is focused on launching new entry-level and mid-range smartphones.
