Panasonic Corp said on Thursday it had stopped supplying certain components to Huawei Technologies, complying with US restrictions on the Chinese manufacturer.
“Panasonic has instructed its employees to cease transactions with Huawei and its 68 affiliates that are subject to the US ban,” the Japanese company said in a statement.
Osaka-based Panasonic does not have a major manufacturing base for components in the United States, but it said the ban applies to products that use 25 percent or more technology or materials made in the United States.
The company, which makes a wide range of components for smartphones, cars and industrial automation equipment, declined to specify which parts would be banned or where they were made.
