It is estimated that between January and June inclusive, Russians purchased approximately 1,5 million laptops. This is an impressive 38% increase compared to the same period in 2019.

If we consider the industry in terms of money, then the growth turned out to be even more significant - 46%: the market volume reached 61,8 billion rubles. The average price of the device rose by 6% and amounted to almost 41 thousand rubles.

Such a sharp increase in laptop sales is partly due to the transition of company employees to remote work, and students and schoolchildren to distance learning. Both are due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Online sales have become the main driver of the market: every second laptop was purchased by Russians on the Internet - this is a record figure. In the first six months of 2020, online laptop sales grew by 118% in units and 120% in money terms. The average purchase price through Internet channels was 42,5 thousand rubles.

ASUS laptops are the most popular among Russians: their share was 23% in unit terms. Acer (19%) and Lenovo (18%) devices follow.

In monetary terms, the top three brands are as follows: ASUS - 25%, Lenovo - 22% and Acer - 20%.
