The Pension Fund of the Russian Federation chooses Linux

The Russian Pension Fund announced Tender β€œUpdating the application and server software of the Electronic Signature and Encryption Management module (PPO UEPSh and SPO UEPSh) to work with Astra Linux and ALT Linux operating systems.” Under this government contract, the PFR is adapting a part of the AIS PFR-2 automated system to work with Russian distributions of Linux OS: Astra and ALT.

At the moment PFR uses Microsoft Windows on workstations and CentOS 7 on servers. IN past the FIU had problems due to a mismatch of OS certification requirements for the workstations used: the installed version of Windows did not have the required FSTEC certificate.

According to the state customer, the development and development of the software for the Electronic Signature and Encryption Management module was carried out under contracts of different years with Online, Information Protection Agency and Technoserv companies.

To ensure the correct operation of the UEPS application software on Russian operating systems, the contractor will have to implement a new cryptographic core for interaction with certified cryptographic protection tools VipNet CSP for Linux 4.2 and higher, as well as CryptoPro CSP running Unix/Linux 4.0 family OS and higher.

It is also necessary to correct the source codes of the program for a programming language that supports the assembly of executable files for Astra Linux and Alt Linux OS, configure library calls, change the call algorithm to run alternative libraries, or develop your own implementation; if there is no implementation of dependencies, create an implementation of the interface supported by Russian operating systems, implement plugins for connecting to the kernel and interactions, create a new implementation of the installation distribution, etc.
