Pepsi will advertise its products from space

The Russian company StartRocket intends to soon create a full-fledged cluster of compact Cubesat satellites at an altitude of 400–500 km from the earth’s surface, from which an “orbital billboard” will be formed. Compact satellites reflect sunlight back to Earth, making them visible in the sky. Such advertising can be seen in the night sky, and the coverage area of the displayed message is approximately 50 km². The first client of the domestic startup will be Pepsi, which intends to use unusual advertising to promote the energy drink Adrenaline Rush.

Official representatives of Pepsi note that, despite the apparent complexity of the project, it is quite feasible. The company believes that StartRocket has potential that will be realized in the future. The “orbital billboards” themselves can become a revolutionary solution in the advertising market. Pepsi confirmed the planned cooperation with StartRocket, noting that the ideas proposed by the startup have good prospects in the future.

Let's remember that the StartRocket company made a statement earlier this year when it announced its intention to broadcast advertising messages from space. The project was actively discussed on the Internet, since not everyone liked the prospect of seeing advertising messages in the night sky.
