The first expansion for Shenmue III will be released on January 21 and will add speed runs

Studio Ys Net and publisher Deep Silver have announced the release date of the first addition to Shenmue III. It will be released on January 21, 2020. 

The upcoming DLC ​​will not be related to the game's storyline. The developers will add new in-game activities, including speed runs. New items will also appear in the project. In addition, the studio plans to add two new characters - Wun Ren and Zhen Wei. All heroes can be played in the new race mode.

The add-on will be released on PC and PS4. The PC version will be available for $8 on the Epic Games Store. Whether other DLC is planned for release has not yet been announced.

Shenmue III was released on November 19 on PC and PlayStation 4. Project got mixed reviews and only scored 68 on Metacritic.
