The first consequences of the restructuring: Intel will cut 128 office workers in Santa Clara

The first consequences of the restructuring: Intel will cut 128 office workers in Santa Clara

Recall: last month, Intel confirmed that it would cut certain jobs in its projects that are no longer a priority. At the same time, the company did not specify exactly where the reductions will be made and which positions may be subject to reductions.

Following this, rumors appeared that during the restructuring of Intel, a fairly large number of employees would have to be laid off. Later, however, it turned out that the amount of reduction may not be so large, and some of the staff will be transferred to other positions, but it is still unlikely to do without layoffs.

And now we see that some Intel employees will indeed lose their jobs. It is reported that according to applications in the EDD, 128 employees of the headquarters of Intel will be laid off until March 31. It can be assumed that this is only the first wave of layoffs as part of the restructuring, and in the future Intel may part with other employees of various departments.

Note that in the headquarters of Intel, located in Santa Clara, California, about 8400 people work. In total, at the end of 2019, the Intel staff consisted of 110 people.
