The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that the first-ever spacewalk by two women, scheduled for the end of this month, will not take place.

NASA astronauts Christina Cook and Ann McClain were supposed to be part of the women's duo during the upcoming spacewalk. They were to engage in extravehicular activity on March 29.

This month, Ann McClain has already gone beyond the ISS - the work was carried out on March 22. Then it turned out that the top of a medium-sized suit suits her best. However, only one such section can be prepared by March 29, and it will go to Christina Cook. Therefore, Ann McClain will miss the upcoming spacewalk - instead, NASA astronaut Nick Haig will take up extravehicular activities.

In turn, Ann McClain will go into outer space on April 8, along with CSA astronaut David Saint-Jacques.

Let us add that Russian cosmonauts Alexei Ovchinin and Oleg Kononenko will go into open space in May. They will remove exposed materials from the outer surface of the station and then return them to Earth for laboratory research.
