Microsoft Teams collaboration platform available for Linux

Microsoft company presented The Linux version of the Microsoft Teams platform, which provides tools for organizing document collaboration, taking notes, scheduling meetings, sharing files, chatting with company employees and holding video conferences. Microsoft Teams is the first Office 365 feature to be adapted for Linux-based desktops. Microsoft Teams for Linux builds available for testing in deb and rpm formats.

The Linux version is in pre-testing and does not provide full feature parity with the Windows version. For example, when working on Linux, features related to office applications and sharing the screen during communication are not yet supported. Porting was made to simplify the interaction of personnel in companies where some employees use Linux on the desktop and were previously forced to use unofficial Skype for Business clients to interact with the rest of the infrastructure. After Microsoft Teams replaced Skype for Business, the company decided to release an official Linux port of the new product.
