A video game is once again being created in the Doctor Who universe, and this time it's not a quest, but a cinematic virtual reality adventure for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
The project, subtitled The Edge of Time, is being developed by Maze Theory. She is also involved in the upcoming game Peaky Blinders, which is also designed to be played in a VR helmet.
Armed with the iconic sonic screwdriver, players will solve mind-bending puzzles, fight classic monsters, and visit new worlds to find the Doctor and defeat the villains. With the help of the ship "TARDIS" users will go to "familiar and strange locations in search of powerful time crystals."
The role of the Doctor will be played by Jodie Whittaker, and among the opponents there will be representatives of the Dalek race and weeping angels. The Edge of Time will be released this September.
