A week ago, Sony lead architect Mark Cerny unexpectedly about the PlayStation 5. We now know that the gaming system will be powered by AMD's 8-core 7nm Zen 2 processor, use the Radeon Navi graphics accelerator, support ray-traced hybrid rendering, 8K output, and rely on high-speed storage SSD.
All this sounds pretty impressive, but what kind of dish are the chefs preparing in the depths of the main competitor - Microsoft? Seasoned Gaming founder and editor-in-chief Ainsley Bowden tweeted, citing several insiders, that Microsoft's Anaconda gaming system will be even more advanced than the competition.
The PS5 hardware details (so far) were exactly what we were hoping for; even beyond what many were expecting.
Multiple insiders have now confirmed it's true Xbox βAnacondaβ will be more advanced as rumored.
All this means is next year is going to be AMAZING for fans of both.

Back in December, there were rumors that the software giant was preparing two new next-generation Xbox systems: a cheaper device, codenamed Lockheart, which is considered the successor to the Xbox One S (its performance will supposedly be comparable to the current Xbox One X) and Anaconda, a flagship console that , like the PS5, will be equipped with high-performance AMD chips along with an SSD drive.
Exactly where Anaconda will outperform the PS5 is not reported, but the obvious options come to mind: more CPU or GPU compute units, more memory, or a faster SSD. Of course, performance is always good. But it's no guarantee of success: The Xbox One X is currently the most powerful console on the market, yet various versions of the PS4 have sold twice as many units as the Xbox One family.
Mr. Cerny called the PS5 price attractive, and analysts expect it to reach $499 - one can assume that Microsoft's flagship will be in the same price range. One way or another, 2020 promises to be an exciting year for players.
