According to the disclosed statistics, the share of Linux among desktop operating system users increased from 5.1% to 6.2% over the year, representing a 22.4% annual growth rate. For comparison, the share of Linux users on Wikipedia is 5.5% (4.2% a year ago), on the Steam game catalog it is 3.2% (2.08% a year ago), according to w3schools.com it is 3.8% (4.1% a year ago), and statcounter.com it is 3.05% (4.45% a year ago).
As for browsers, Chrome leads the desktop market with 56.9%, followed by Safari with 13.3% and Edge with 12.2%. Firefox has 8.4% and Opera with 7%. On mobile, Firefox has 0.7% (up 5.3% from a year ago), Chrome has 68.6%, and Safari has 23.1%.
