Almost like a samurai: a blogger played Ghost of Tsushima with a katana controller

Bloggers often have fun playing games with strange controllers. For example, in Dark Souls 3 as a gamepad used toaster, and in Minecraft - piano. Now, Ghost of Tsushima has added to the piggy bank of games that are played by strange methods. The author of the YouTube channel Super Louis 64 showed how to control the protagonist in the samurai action from Sucker Punch Productions using a controller in the form of a plastic katana.

The device was released by Capcom for the action game Onimusha, released back in 2001. The blogger managed to get his hands on this controller and modified it accordingly. As shown in the video below, the author made it so that the swing of the controller katana was responsible for pressing the strike key. The control of the camera and the movements of the main character are assigned to the sticks placed on the handle of the plastic weapon. But with the rest of the commands, difficulties arose, since the location of other keys on the device cannot be called convenient. In particular, it was inconvenient for the player to parry and change stances.

Ghost of Tsushima was released on July 17, 2020 exclusively on PlayStation 4. Metacritic the game received 83 points from journalists after 116 reviews. Users rated it 9,2 out of 10 (15881 votes).
