Ducati is well known in the world for its motorcycles. Not so long ago that the developer intends to create an electric motorcycle. Now it has become known that electric scooters will be produced under the Ducati brand.
The project will be implemented as part of a partnership agreement with the Chinese company Vmoto, which manufactures CUx motorcycles and scooters. The new electric scooters will be "an official Ducati licensed product." Vmoto says the new vehicles will be a luxury version of the CUx scooter that will cost substantially more than the base model. It was also announced that Ducati scooters will be distributed through Vmoto's existing distribution network.
It is worth noting that in the past Ducati has already been engaged in the production of electric bicycles, so the current project in this area is not the first for the company. Vmoto representatives say that the joint work of the two companies will allow Ducati fans to purchase a high-end premium two-wheeled vehicle. In addition, joint activities will strengthen public confidence in the Vmoto brand, as well as increase the company's recognition in the markets of the countries of the European region. It is planned to release a limited series of electric scooters under the Ducati brand.
Recall that CUx electric scooters are produced under the Super SOCO trademark, owned by Vmoto. The latest version of the vehicle is equipped with a Bosh engine with a power output of 2,5 kW (3,75 hp). The maximum speed of the scooter is 45 km/h. The built-in battery provides a range of 75 km. Of course, this compact vehicle cannot be called racing, but it is great for moving around large cities.
