An alternative repository with Red Hat Enterprise Linux source codes has been prepared

The Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenELA Clone Creators Association, which includes Rocky Linux represented by CIQ, Oracle Linux, and SUSE, has posted an alternative repository with RHEL source code. The source code is available for free, without registration or SMS. The repository is supported and maintained by members of the OpenELA association.

In the future, we plan to create tools for making our own Enterprise Linux distribution, as well as adding RHEL 7 source code.

The repository appeared in connection with the closure of git.centos.org by IBM in terms of publishing the source codes of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, as well as in connection with the introduction of a ban on redistribution to Red Hat clients.

To supervise the association, an NGO has been created that will deal with the legal and financial side of the OpenELA project, and the technical steering committee (Technical Steering Committee) will be in charge of making technical decisions, coordinating development and support.
