There were no significant changes in the balance of power in the Russian consumer processor market in July, but prices for AMD Ryzen processors, which grew due to the weakening of the ruble, allowed Intel products to consistently increase their share from 39,5 to 40,9% in just a month. An additional incentive was the reduction in prices for processors of the Coffee Lake Refresh family.
The Core i7-8700K processor, which is two steps away from the current Intel flagship, generally fell in price by 18,9% in July, according to statistics.
If we consider the products of both manufacturers, then the leaders in popularity growth in July were AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (+1,37%), Ryzen 3 3300X (+0,83%), Ryzen 5 3400G (+0,83%) and Intel processors. Core i9-10900K (+0,87%). In parentheses after the name of the model, the change in the share in percentage points per month is indicated.
Six-core AMD Ryzen processors continue to be the favorites of Russian consumers. Ryzen 5 3600 (13,8%) is in first place, the more affordable Ryzen 5 2600 (9,6%) is in second, even the honored veteran Ryzen 5 1600 (3,3%) cannot go further than sixth place. On the other hand, the not-cheap Ryzen 9 3900X holds fifth place (3,6%), behind the more affordable Ryzen 7 3700X (5,7%) in third. In general, the top 10 most popular processors continue to include seven members of the Ryzen family.
In the top five most popular processors in July, only Ryzen 5 2600 showed positive demand dynamics. The weakening of the ruble caused an increase in average prices for current AMD processors by 5 to 8%, while the Intel Coffee Lake family in all its generations began to become cheaper due to the release of successor market. Among AMD processors, only the hybrid Ryzen 5 3400G lost its price in July, and this had a positive effect on its popularity.
