This time, images of motherboards of the ROG Strix series were presented, in which ASUS releases models related to the upper part of the middle price segment. This time, the Taiwanese manufacturer is preparing seven models of motherboards based on the flagship Intel Z490 system logic in this series.
Most of the upcoming innovations are equipped with very powerful power subsystems with 12 + 2 phases. The exceptions are the older ROG Strix Z490-E with 14 + 2 phases, as well as the compact ROG Strix Z490-I, which has only 8 + 2 phases. Immediately, we note that the power circuits of all new ROG Strix products are equipped with very massive radiators, and radiators are also provided for M.2 drives. Almost all new products have not been without RGB-backlighting.
All ROG Strix motherboards based on the Intel Z490 will get the 2,5 Gigabit Intel i225-V network controller. Some models, including the flagship ROG Strix Z490-E, will have an Intel AX201 wireless module with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.
In addition to the ROG Strix, an image of the ASUS ProArt Z490-Creator 10G motherboard was also published. The novelty will be the first representative of the ProArt series among motherboards, and it will be focused on workstations for creating all kinds of content. The novelty is made in a rather strict style, somewhat reminiscent of the once released ASUS TUF Sabretooth boards. Note that the novelty has an additional expansion card, which is most likely a 10-gigabit network controller or a Thunderbolt 3 adapter.
The cost, as well as the start date of sales of ASUS motherboards based on the Intel Z490 chipset, has not yet been specified. According to rumors, new items may be more expensive than their predecessors.
