Unlike Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!, which were a remake offshoot of the first Pokémon, Sword and Shield will continue the main series. Because of this, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are designed specifically for handheld mode and without focusing on some of the mechanics that were applied in Let's Go.
Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee!, which came out last November, were designed to emphasize the enjoyment of the Nintendo Switch in TV mode, such as waving the controller at the TV screen to catch a Pokemon, Furukawa said.
