The new Elbrus architecture processor has the following characteristics:
- 16 cores
- 16 nm
- 2 GHz
- 8 channels of DDR4-3200 ECC memory
- Ethernet 10 and 2.5 Gbps
- 32 PCIe 3.0 lanes
- 4 channels SATA 3.0
- up to 4 processors in NUMA
- up to 16 TB in NUMA
- 12 billion transistors
On the sample, it was already possible to launch the Elbrus OS on the Linux kernel. Serial production is expected at the end of 2021.
Elbrus is a Russian processor with its own architecture based on a wide instruction word (VLIW). Elbrus-16C is a representative of the sixth generation of this architecture, including the addition of hardware support for virtualization.
