Google Photos users will be able to tag people in photos

The lead developer of Google Photos David Lieb (David Lieb) in the course of communication with users on the network Twitter revealed some details about the future of the popular service. Despite the fact that the purpose of the conversation was to collect feedback and wishes, Mr. Lieb, answering questions, spoke about what new features will be added to Google Photos.

It was announced that soon users will be able to independently tag people in photos. Currently, the service is able to identify friends and acquaintances in images. The user can remove incorrect tags, but you cannot tag people in pictures yourself.

In addition, a search feature for recently added photos will be added to the Google Photos mobile app. Currently, search by recently added images only works in the web version of the service. The new feature will make it easier to search among recently uploaded images, even if the image you are looking for was taken several years ago. Another feature that will be transferred from the web version to the application is the ability to edit timestamps.

In the future, users will get a simplified feature that allows them to share pictures with animals and pets. You will be able to automatically add such snapshots to shared libraries. The development team intends to integrate the function of deleting photos from their library when viewing items posted in shared galleries.

Unfortunately, Mr. Lieb did not specify when the new features might appear in the Google Photos service.
