Porteus Kiosk 5.0.0 - distribution kit for the implementation of demonstration stands and self-service terminals

On March 2, the fifth version of the distribution was released Porteus Kiosk 5.0.0based on Gentoo Linux, and designed for the rapid deployment of demonstration stands and self-service terminals. The size of the image is only 104 mb.

The distribution includes the minimum environment required to run a web browser (Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome) with reduced rights - changing settings, installing add-ons or applications is prohibited, access to pages that are not included in the white list is prohibited. There is also a pre-installed ThinClient for the terminal to operate as a thin client.

The distribution kit is configured using a special tool combined with the installer. setup wizard β€” KIOSK WIZARD.

After loading, the OS verifies all components using checksums, and the system is mounted in a read-only state.
