The Lavochkin Research and Production Association (NPO Lavochkin) intends to mass-produce the Luna-27 automatic station: the production time for each copy will be less than one year. This is reported by the RIA Novosti online publication, citing information received from sources in the rocket and space industry.
Luna-27 (Luna-Resource-1 PA) is a heavy lander. The main task of the mission will be to extract from the depth and analyze samples of lunar soil. Research is planned to be carried out in the area of ββthe south pole of the natural satellite of our planet.
The station will also take care of other tasks. Among them is the study of the neutral and dusty components of the Moon's exosphere and the effects of the interaction of the Moon's surface with the interplanetary medium and the solar wind.
According to the current schedule, the launch of Luna 27 will take place in the middle of the next decade, in 2025. After working out the systems of this device, in particular, intelligent landing aids, this station is planned to be mass-produced. The production time will be approximately 10 months - from complete assembly to launch.
Meanwhile, this year it is planned to develop design documentation for the Luna-26 project. This apparatus is being created for the purpose of conducting remote studies of the surface of the natural satellite of our planet.
